Did you know that the city of Oshawa council passed a motion to give a $250 property tax grant to seniors who are property owners and collecting the Guaranteed Income Supplement and the disabled under the Ontario Disability Support program effective beginning in 2008. We should all work on getting our towns and cities to follow in giving a grant to seniors on GIS and the disabled.

If you are traveling out of Ontario and renting a car, be sure to tell them your age. One of our seniors had to pay an extra cost for insurance each day because he was over the age of 70. Shop around to find a company that doesn’t charge extra because of your age.

July has flown by and now it is August and you are enjoying all the fresh fruits and vegetables from your garden or the market.

We need to keep active and healthy as the hospital is no place to be.
