July
1st, 2007 - Hello
everyone, Hope
you are having a great summer.
If
you attended our convention last August in Kitchener
you will remember Stan Buell, President of Small Investors
Protection Association speaking on how people are
being scammed by their investors.
Stan
Buell, Art Field, President of National Pensioners
and Senior Citizens Federation
and myself attended The Justice Stakeholder Summit
on Sunday, June 24th and Monday June 25th and were
able to make many good requests on your behalf.
The
Small Investors Protection Association (SIPA) president
Stan Buell is now preparing a submission, but needs
some case studies from members to support their submission.
One
of the concerns is the way complaints are handled
by the industry and regulators and the time required.
We need stories outlining the steps you took, the
attitudes you encountered, the time it took, and the
results you achieved. Most disputes are resolved out
of court with gag orders.
Tell
us. We will not include any names (of investors, registrants
or investment firms.) Any information you can provide
will be of great assistance for this initiative.
We
need your support. If your dispute is settled your
story could help others less fortunate, or still facing
an issue. If you are aware of court decisions, please
let us know.
Thanks
for your support.
